Book limousine rentals for your prom

Renting a limousine for your prom makes it easy to get around in style; you can get limousine services to pick you up from your home, take you to the prom, then get you to the after party, to your hotel or back home once the evening is over. However, limousine rental services tend to get very busy around prom time, so it's essential that you book yours early to ensure you're not stuck without a way to get around on the big night.

Limousine Rental 101

Make sure that the company is insured and properly licensed; avoid any company that hesitates to prove that it is authorized to operate in your area. If you have any doubts, ask to see copies of their licenses or certificates. If you want to do any background research, check with the Better Business Bureau to see if any complaints have been registered against the prom limousine company. Chauffeurs should be experienced and know the area very well.

See your limousine in person before you complete the booking; at the very least, the company should email you photos of the car you'll be using on prom night. If you get photos, make sure they're complete and show the car as well as its amenities. Know the make, model and year of the car; if you asked for a Hummer limousine, you want to make sure a Hummer limousine shows up. Traveling in style is every bit as important as prom dresses and tuxedos.

Limousine Contracts

For prom limousines, a six to eight hour contract is the norm. Typically, rates are charged per hour, though you may be able to get a flat rate for the entire night. Tipping your driver is considered good form but not strictly necessary.

Your contract should state the year, make and model of the prom limousine as well as all added taxes. It will state the service area and include all rules and regulations, so you know what you're responsible for in case of accidental damage. Make sure all passengers are familiar with the terms and conditions of the rental, and that pick-up and drop-off locations are agreed upon in advance.

Have a safe and happy trip!
