Pool Party

A refreshing way to party!

Having a pool party is a must in the summer, especially if it is a birthday pool party. Whether the party is in your own backyard or at the local community pool, there is no reason why you can't bring your pool party ideas to reality.

There are many different pool party invitations available on the market, from child-like drawings to invitations cut out to resemble swimming pools. Online invitations are becoming more and more common, so don't discount that option either.

Pool Party Games

For a teen pool party, you need to make sure you have just enough supervision that they don't feel like the adults are overshadowing them, yet you know what is going on. You also need to make sure you have some party entertainment, so here are some great pool games to consider:

  • Marco Polo. A classic game, one person closes their eyes and yells "Marco!" The rest of the guests yell "Polo!" back, making the Marco go looking for the others. The first one the Marco tags becomes the new "Marco," and the former searcher then becomes party of the group hiding from the Marco.
  • Sharks and Minnows. This is similar to Marco Polo, except the chaser keeps their eyes open for this one. One person is the shark, and stands at one end of the pool. Everyone else is a minnow, and they are at the other end of the pool. The minnows have to get to the other side of the pool without being touched by the shark. Anyone who is touched also becomes a shark, helping to hunt the minnows.

If you go to your local sports store, you can also get games such as pool basketball, pool badminton and pool Frisbee toss. The materials are all safe to use in any pool, and can involve as many people as you have space for.

No matter what you do to keep everyone entertained in the pool, just remember to enjoy the water in the summer heat! Make sure to use waterproof sunscreen and drink plenty of water throughout the day.
