Make your event special with personalized party favors

There are two kinds of personalized party favor: those that are personalized to the guest(s) of honor, and those that are personalized to the guest. Either could be appropriate, depending on the event, and both are appreciated by the recipients.

Wedding favors are almost always personalized with the bride's and groom's names and the date of the wedding, as a souvenir of their wonderful day and all the fun you had at their reception party after the ceremony. Personalized birthday party favors, on the other hand, are more likely to feature the guest's name than the birthday person's.

Kids' Birthday Party Favor Ideas

Candy is an easy go-to for kids' party favor bags, but if you are health conscious, or if you just don't want disgruntled parents giving you a piece of their minds the next time they see you, because of the way their kid stayed hopped up on sugar for many hours after she came home from your kid's birthday party, it's better to stick with a few candies and make the rest of the party favors non-edible.

Some other ideas of items to include in kids' party favor bags include:

  • Stickers
  • Pencils with fuzzy tops or decorative erasers
  • Brightly colored shoelaces
  • Marbles
  • Bubbles
  • Yo-yo
  • Mini jigsaw puzzle
  • Balloons (not blown up, of course)

If you want to include items that are more specifically girls' or boys' items, like a beaded bracelet for the girls and little army action figures for the boys, that is a kind of a personalization, but if you want to go that extra step, you can tie the bags with a personalized item, such as key chains with each child's name on it.

Why not a Party Favor Box?

Party favor boxes are a fun alternative to the classic favor bag for children's or adults' parties. The box can be purely decorative cardboard, in the shape of a present or party hat or other object specific to the occasion, or it can be more substantial and part of the gift itself, like a miniature metal keepsake box or heart-shaped glass candy box.
